The VSQMA Novice Training Program is a fun, informative learning process. All Novice Participants must complete and submit the 2009 Membership Packet prior to attending Novice School. Please be aware that Jeff Clark, Novice Director, cannot process membership applications, and if your application hasn't been received you will not be able to participate in training.

You must have a copy of each drivers birth certificate, a 1X1 picture of each handler (parent), and a check for $150. We will also have insurance forms for you to sign as well as the membership application. Applications should obtained from and subbmitted to Beth Thompson, Secretary, 480 - 963-2915 or at zonies4@q.com.

Each potential driver must complete 3 Novice Training sessions offered during the season to be eligible to participate in quarter midget racing. Please be advised that VSQMA reserves the right to modify these dates if necessary. Please Contact Jeff Clark, VSQMA Novice Trainer for additional times or any novice questions you may have.

Novice Safety and Tech

All Novice competitors must conform to the QMA Rule Book and all NCQMA rules and regulations. Failure to do so will result in penalties as described by NCQMA and QMA.

Restrictor Plate
You must have the proper QMA restrictor plate installed in your motor. Red for Junior Novice or Blue for Senior Novice. You can purchase the plates from the club secretary, Beth Thompson. She can be reached  at 480- 963-2915 or at zonies4@q.com

Novice Safety Switch
Your novice car must have a kill switch mounted on the top of the body frame.

Fuel/Oil Policy:
Track fuel for VSQMA races is midgrade unleaded from the Circle K at Central and Dobbins. A control sample of fuel purchased the day of the race will be used to test fuel durring  the day.

Car Inspections:
All Cars must pass Safety Inspection before allowed to Race
Safety Sheets need to be completed and signed by the VSQMA Safety Director before Sign-ins

Seat Belts:
Everyone needs to check the dates on their seatbelts. If the date is expired, the seatbelts will need to be changed. There will be spot checks on this. This is a DQ, please make sure your car has seatbelts with current dates.

Fuel Tank:
The fuel tank overflow line needs to be below the belly pan on the car or to the outside of the frame rails. Please make sure you are in compliance.


On Saturday, Sepember 19 at Novice Training Rodger Dry  the VSQMA Tech Director will be available to give your cars the once over and make sure that you meet all of the current requirements for this year. Please plan on attending this novice training session.
