No Treasurer Report
June Minutes read:
Motion: change minutes to include outgoing Board members, incoming Board members, and notation to change checking account to delete past board members and add new President, Secretary, and Treasurer

Desert Shoot Out:
Snack Bar: Club needs volunteers to run snack bar September 4th and 5th or the club needs to consider a hot wagon. Heath Dry said the Apache Junction Little League would attend and run snack bar with all proceeds to go to the Little League.
Motion: Let AJ Little League run snack bar if no volunteers step up

Restroom – Club to get one handicapped restroom for top parking lot.
Motion: spend $5 for a water gun for each registered driver for race on September 4th and 5th.

Pot Luck – Club will purchase Carne Asada to be grilled Saturday, September 4th. Club would like members to volunteer to bring the following: cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, tortillas, refried beans, chips, salsa. Please send email to Connie Ellington, cellington@cox.net if you wish to participate in pot luck and what you will be bringing. Cindy Bieber will be checking on a cake for dessert.
Orange Show has purchased all trophies/awards for the series and VSQMA needs to pay half of cost. Only drivers who qualify for the Desert Shoot Out series will be receiving trophies/awards for the series. Club will also be handing out trophies/awards for the club series.
Parking:
Parking is open to all members. We have received request/money from the following families for lower level: Clark, DeLisa, Sisemore, Davis, Matich, Edwards, Heath, Almon, Dry, Tait, and Sneva. Only one request/money has been received for upper level parking from the Strader family. Five of the open lower level spots and one upper level spot have been sold for the Labor Day weekend race at $50/spot. These spots will be available for the remaining club series if any member is interested. Please contact Connie Ellington, cellington@cox.net for further information. Reminder: If you want parking for the regional races at a discount of $25 per race, money/request is due no later than September 1, 2010.
Track Work Party:
The track work party/clean-up is scheduled for August 28, 2010. Track will be closed to practice until all clean-up is finished. Don Heath and Scott Sutton will look into supplying wood. Dan Matich will supply screws. Please plan on attending and help to make the track look nice!!
Track Resurface:
Quotes were received to recoat the on/off for $7,000. Another quote for $22,900 was given to do the on/off and center of track. $10,000 was already pre-approved to spend on fixing track. Marty Tait to put down concrete, one side at a time.
NEW TIRE RULE:
The track has adopted a new tire rule: same right side tires must be used all day, Tech to paint tires after qualifying/first heat. If a tire is blown, approval must be obtained from tech before replacing tire. Tires can be changed for lower mains, but original tires must be put back on for “A” main.

Tropies/Ribbons:
Discussion was held to discontinue using trophies/ribbons. We need to deplete stock before changing. Members would like to keep trophies for Junior classes and as an option for 1st place A Main winners.
Tucson:
TQMA would like to have a four race series with VSQMA – two races in Tucson and two races in Phoenix to count for series. Lisa Dix and Jessica Edwards to get with Tucson club to determine race dates and award information bring back to next meeting.
VSQMA Qualifying Races:
September 4th is a qualifying race, as well as Desert Springs. Tucson series race to also be qualifying races.
Arrive & Drive:
Lisa Dix brought two events for members to display cars: Gilbert Family Halloween Carnival on 10/30 and Cruise Central on 10/9. Club will hold an Arrive & Drive on November 6th. Dan Matich volunteered to attend the Gilbert Carnival. If you wish to volunteer for either, please contact Lisa Dix, essentialchi@yahoo.com.

Thunder on the Mountain:
Jesse and Tammie are available to do pictures for Thunder on the Mountain and Desert Springs.
USA DIRT TRACK RACE – TUCSON:
The USA Dirt Track will be holding a Quarter Midget Honda 120 race on August 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Track is open at 4:00 for practice. Cost is $35 per person. Car count will determine heats/mains.
Meeting Schedule:
Three VSQMA Club meetings scheduled: September 20, October 18, and November 15. No meeting will be held in December. Meetings for 2011 to be determined when Denny’s has calendar available.
Terry Wall Radio Talk Show – see attached
Radio talk show for Quarter Midgets discussions on Mondays, 5:00 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Staging Awning:
Motion: Purchase awnings for staging, $700 plus shipping and tax to be spent

Open Discussion:
Jan Sneva voiced concern there will not be a big Senior Honda class. If handlers want to do a “gentleman’s” agreement, VSQMA can adopt a weight to be used so Heavy Honda drivers can step down to Senior Honda to create a bigger class.
